Glad Grads A Tad Proud

Hats Off as Milestone Capped

For a group of BrightStart’s preschool patients, Wednesday was graduation day.

Wait – wasn’t graduation season back in May? Maybe so, but if you’re a patient in the BrightStart PPEC program your graduation happens just before the next school year.

Graduation for these little ones represents years of skilled pediatric nursing treatments, therapy sessions, physician appointments, surgeries and hospitalizations.

While many patients who graduate from the program are moving on to a more traditional schedule with their medical issues resolved, some continue to work with nursing and therapy.

Often these patients will attend the BrightStart program after school or on breaks and summer vacation.

If you’ve visited our website, you’ll see familiar faces in our gallery. Nearly all of them started their BrightStart PPEC journey as infants!

Graduate style sessions by Miss Victoria by appointment only.

Like so many patients before, BrightStart is so proud of helping these children and their families. Each smiling face you see here represents a mission accomplished: Providing medically fragile children with the nursing, therapy and love to reach their best potential and get a bright start.

Dr. Trone to Winter Garden, Please

Earlier in the week, BrightStart Winter Garden welcomed a visitor from the AdventHealth Pediatric Residency Program.

Dr. Marlena Trone DO is a first year resident with the AdventHealth program. She originally hails from Virginia and is enjoying the change of scenery in Central Florida.

Her introduction to the PPEC came with a visit to patients as they went about their nursing and therapy day. She had a more clinically detailed review with Director of Nursing, Karen Peters.

Thank you for coming to visit, Dr. Trone!

Can you hear background music? It might be Pomp and Circumstance. Well, you can just hum along and click into our latest photo gallery!
