Pop Fever Outbreak at Sanford
No need for alarm, but there was an outbreak of pop fever at BrightStart Sanford.
Patients and staff showed their pink and pastel colors in a party for the ages… make that a party for the era.
Thursday saw a Taylor Swift themed party at the Sanford center. Karaoke, lights, decorations, guitar props and more whipped the preschool patients into a frenzy of fun.
This era of fantastic Swifties fun was brought to you by the Benfield family, for whom each birthday is a landmark achievement.
To celebrate they provided the decorations, props and food for patients and staff.
Joining the fun for their pediatric rotation were students from Galen College of Nursing. Ruth, Kristy, Nemesis and Taylor-Ann got their first exposure to the PPEC program in real style. They spent time with each developmental group and were happily immersed with the party.
Dancing and singing led to the huge backstage lunch. The rockstar patients refueled and refreshed with pizza, popcorn chicken and a selection of fresh fruit.
After lunch the kids settled in for craft time, stringing their own friendship bracelets.
Finally, the group gathered for the much-hyped cake cutting and cupcakes.
It was a big, bright, loud time that was memorable for everyone. A huge thank you – plus an encore – goes out to Crystal, Ken and Arden for their generosity, and for sharing their family’s special day with everyone at BrightStart.
