Patients beat the heat with nursing, therapy & love
It’s been a busy summer at BrightStart Pediatrics with plenty of nursing, therapy and love to go around.
While still carefully managing daily operations within changing COVID protocols, there’s also plenty of fun to go around. As some of our patients prepare to graduate to kindergarten in the coming weeks, others continue to progress. Of course there are always new faces joining our family, both patients and staff.
Music therapy has resumed a regular schedule for patients to add rhythm to Speech, Physical and Occupational therapies. Each center has a variety of regular activies designed to keep everyone cool and happy. Water days have been a staple of the summer weeks, weather permitting.
How about a peek at BrightStart’s unique approach to prescribed pediatric extended care? This is what we’ve been up to in the past week:
It’s an Arty-Party Celebration at Sanford
Monday, Sanford patients celebrated a birthday in living colors with a group art activity, supplies generously provided by one of our families. After clean up, there was a freestyle dance and parade through the center with great music before the traditional pizza & cupcakes.
Winter Garden: Same Love, Different Day
On Tuesday at BrightStart Winter Garden, patients enjoyed our staple menu of nursing, therapy and love. Activities are designed to match the developmental level of each age group complimented by daily playground excursions.
Orlando Patients: Wild, Just Add Water
Thursday was the day to wear out patients and staff with a water day. Plenty of sunshine to go around and plenty of splashing to be had. Our therapy staff uses these opportunities to cleverly disguise their sessions in the aquatic setting. We’re sharing a little gallery of images for you to enjoy – please bring your own towel!
