Spring Break Gets Our Goat

Noah’s Landing Brings Fur, Feathers & Fun

Get those hands in the air – and on the animals!

Our enduring Spring Break tradition hit Sanford on Tuesday with a visit from Noah’s Landing petting zoo.

Patients (along with their emotional support caregivers) got to visit with a fun bunch of goats, pigs, chicken and the random alpaca.

Kids love a high-hoof from the baby goats.

It’s no exaggeration to say that participation in the zoo is a rite of passage for BrightStart patients. Over the years a few have not enjoyed the experience but begin to warm up to the idea. Tuesday’s cool weather and furry friends seemed to strike a calming note for almost everyone, first timers and veterans alike.

Budding archaeologists really dig the sand pit.

Staff also turned out to represent the animal kingdom, and patients showed off their animal day attire. A pizza party for lunch capped off a busy morning.

Big kids take a leadership role, helping their younger friends prepare for lunch.

Thank you to our incredible BrightStart Sanford crew for corraling all of our spring breakers! And a special thanks to our friends from Noah’s Landing, Kandiss and Morgan, for bringing us all kinds of new friends!
