BrightStart Brings Nursing, Therapy, Love & Words
Friday was a perfect spring day here in Central Florida and perfect to welcome the return of the annual Healthy Start Coalition of Seminole County Baby Shower and Educational Seminar!
The Healthy Start Coalition of Seminole County is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 2014. The annual baby shower is just one part of the Coalition’s mission to reach families in need in Seminole county.
Basic baby needs, as well as education and support during pregnancy and the first three years of their baby’s life are available to mothers and families.
BrightStart Pediatrics has maintained a great partnership with the Coalition since its inception and was one of the sponsors for the event.
This year’s theme, “Once upon a time …” highlighted the importance of reading for babies and toddlers as part of their development. With more than one hundred and fifty registered participants, it was a busy Friday at Northland Church’s Rink facility.
It wasn’t all about learning – there was plenty of fun in the mix with ice breaker games and raffles. Participants also got a chance to visit with vendors and exhibitors and a photo booth. Lunch was provided – a great way to kick off the weekend!
Did you know April is Occupational Therapy month? We helped celebrate with our very own Linda Brown as a guest speaker.
Linda discussed some basic concepts applied in Occupational Therapy for the development of babies and children and how they relate to the introduction of reading.
Thank you to all of our friends at the Healthy Start Coalition of Seminole County! Their months of preparation to bring the baby shower back to an in-person event were tremendously successful and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
