Joy and Fun Rain on Orange County
BrightStart was a proud sponsor for the Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County for their annual baby shower on April 5th.
This year’s theme, “Starting a New Chapter”, was a perfect fit for the outreach to educate women and families about the importance of early prenatal care and the developmental stages of infants. With a focus on reading, plenty of books found new homes.
Even more important is the opportunity for the event to make families aware of the many resources available in Orange county. The mission was well accomplished by the Coalition and it’s dedicated staff.
“This is our first baby shower for Orange County,” Executive Directory Thelisha Thomas said. “We’re starting a new chapter, and we’re going to get bigger and better every year.”
A few other familiar faces were side by side at the event. Staff from the sister coalition in Seminole County were on hand to make a busy agenda move smoothly.
Participants enjoyed a presentation with Q&A from keynote speaker Dr. Candice Jones and other guest speakers. There was also a visit from Representative Anna Eskamani (Florida House, District 42), who was home for the weekend during the current legislative session.
Plenty of fun helped work up an appetite for the catered lunch – raffles, games and a photo booth engaged families to celebrate their new arrivals.
