Striving and Thriving

BrightStart Patients Keep Busy in August Heat

Temperatures are a bit toasty for BrightStart patients to play outside. Keeping those young hands and minds active is easy with fun and art.

Dr. Tida Thaipejr MD from AdventHealth visits BrightStart Pediatrics PPEC center in Winter Garden

BrightStart Winter Garden welcomed Dr. Tida Thaipejr MD from AdventHealth early in the week. This was Dr. Tida’s first exposure to PPEC and to the center’s popular art gallery, featuring patient works.

Originally from California, Dr. Tida is enjoying her residency in Central Florida.

Her family is on the west coast, while her husband, also a medical professional, has family here. Her future after residency isn’t yet decided, but we hope to see her again!

“Assessment, huh? Come at me.”
When you’ve looked everywhere for your shoe and discover you’re holding it.
This fine piece was donated to the gallery by a guest artist.

Dr. Tida had a thorough clinical review of PPEC patients and got to sit in on art in progress, as well as observing nursing and therapy treatments.

Fitness & Fun at Sanford

A visit to BrightStart Sanford found patients expressing themselves with lots of dancing and singing for circle time. On Wednesday, familiar learning songs were a hit, leading to a spirited session with Danny Go! favorites such as Gorilla Smash! Drum-Along and The Wiggle Dance.

Between all the joyful noise and movement there was still time for play and therapy. An exciting caterpillar craft is planned to close out the week.

Fashion matters. That’s why BrightStart patients are dressed to be assessed.

All of these activities highlight the dynamic difference that the BrightStart PPEC program offers families: nursing, therapy and love. In this developmentally focused environment, medically fragile patients socialize and engage in play that builds toward their best outcome.

More fun is always on the way, so stop by again soon. Meanwhile take a look what’s blossomed here – a new photo gallery!
