Marching Toward Spring Break

Visitors from Galen College & Orlando Health

Preparations for Spring Break 2026 are underway! Meanwhile it’s business as usual at BrightStart Pediatrics.

Last week BrightStart Sanford was host to students from Galen College of Nursing. The private college offers accredited programs to start and to advance nursing careers. The Orlando campus opened in July of 2025.

Fries are now an option with BrightStart’s exclusive Happy Assessment®. Some dietary restrictions apply.

Instructor Dawn Collier-Hezel RN introduced students to a few friends she made when visiting Sanford for holiday celebrations.

Speaking of celebrations, things got musical with a session from Mr. Ford of Joyful Music Therapy. Galen students were drafted into the chorus line and passed their audition flawlessly.

Out west, BrightStart Winter Garden doubled down on visitors with two pediatric residents from Orlando Health.

Dr. Hiba Hajissa DO already knows her way around Orlando but was new to the PPEC program. Florida native Dr. Neha Aitharaju DO was also new to the PPEC program.

Both said they are considering a fellowship once their residency is complete, so neither is certain about a return to the Orlando area.

There were some familiar faces among BrightStart Winter Garden patients for both physicians, and new friends at every turn. Program Director Linda Brown provided a background and introuction to the PPEC program. Nursing Director Karen Peters took the visitors through a clinical review and a chance to join the day’s activities.

Nine out of ten* pediatric patients recommend Physician Karaoke performances for increased health and well being.
*One patient was sleeping.
