Fun On The Floor for Sanford Patient
Our BrightStart family gave permission to share the first name and some reference to their child’s medical issues and treatment for this post.
Who has four wheels and makes smiles wherever he goes?
It’s BrightStart Sanford patient Bennett, receiving a fancy set of wheels expanding his mobility and independence.
UFC’s Go Baby Go! outreach program made Bennett’s new vehicle possible. They chose his application after the evaluation and participation of BrightStart’s Physical Therapy team. The BrightStart team have treated Bennett since his enrollment in the PPEC program in 2023.
Getting his ride ready was a team effort. Bennett’s BrightStart pre-school friends joined him in decorating the car with stickers in his favorite theme, Mickey & Minnie Mouse.
After detailing, it was time for Bennett to buckle in for a test drive. The vehicle design includes a button for acceleration on the steering wheel to accommodate Bennett’s abilities. In addition to the sleek profile, his battery powered car is rated for an estimated 50 smiles per charge.*
